This series started many years ago as I juggled yoga studies and worked for other companies, including a very corporate yoga retail company and my own tiny heart fueled brand. ️
This was way before podcasts like ‘Yoga is Dead’ and ‘Yoga Talks’ existed (good listens) and art seemed like the best place to turn to begin working out the cultural clashes I had landed in- between corporate yoga and traditional practices. This series helped steer me towards deciding to return to more traditional yoga studies in India, to leave corporate yoga, and to further explore my place as a practitioner and teacher.
Lakshmi, pictured here, is the goddess of wealth, fortune, power, luxury, beauty, fertility, and auspiciousness. She holds the promise of material fulfillment and contentment. She is described as restless, whimsical yet maternal, with her arms raised to bless and to grant.
Lakshmi is also the personification of spiritual fulfillment. She embodies the spiritual world, and is the embodiment of the creative energy of Vishnu, and Prakriti, who creates the universe.
